Fold it shut and the Galaxy Z Flip7 slips into a jacket pocket in a way a slab phone never quite manages. That folding trick is the whole pitch, and right now Best Buy in the US is selling the unlocked 256GB version in Jet Black for $1,044.99, marked as Clearance. The comparable value on the same listing is $1,099.99, so the cut is $55. The price was checked on Best Buy’s US listing on 4 November 2026.
Verdict: buy it for the fold, not for a bargain
At $1,044.99, this is still a four-figure phone, and the $55 saving does not turn it into a cheap one. What it does is make the fold a little easier to justify, if you already want a phone that opens to a 6.9-inch AMOLED screen and folds back down to something small. The hardware behind that idea is serious: a 50-megapixel rear camera with a 12-megapixel ultrawide, a 10-megapixel front camera, 12GB of RAM, an Exynos 2500 processor, and a 4,300mAh battery, with Wi-Fi 7 and an IP48 rating on Best Buy’s specification list. CompareIdea does not hands-on test phones, so this verdict rests on those published US specifications and the verified US price, not on a day spent using the handset. The trade-off is plain. The 4,300mAh battery is small for a phone at this price, and the 25-watt wired charging listed for it is slow for the class. The cover screen is 4.1 inches, far smaller than the 6.9-inch main screen, so it is suited to quick tasks rather than full use. If you rarely fold a phone, you are paying for a hinge you will not use, and a flat phone with the same screen size would do the same job without it. If you do want that smaller folded shape, and you want it unlocked so you can choose among AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and the other carriers Best Buy lists for this model, the Flip7 makes sense at this price. It does not make sense as a purchase made only because it says Clearance.
What the US listing covers
The Best Buy listing is for the unlocked model, model SM-F766UZKAXAA, SKU 6635720, in Jet Black with 256GB of built-in storage. The unfolded screen measures 6.9 inches, with a 2520 x 1080 AMOLED display running at 120Hz and reaching 2,600 nits on the specification list. Video recording is listed at 4K at 60 frames per second, and the phone charges over USB-C, with 25-watt wired charging and 15-watt wireless charging. It runs Android 16 on that same list. None of that is new for this phone, and this story does not present it as a launch. It is a price check on a phone that is already on sale in the US, with the clearance label doing the news work.
