Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch (M5)

Our verdict: Apple - On sale now. The MacBook Pro 14-inch (M5) is the MacBook for a buyer who wants sustained performance in a portable size: an M5 chip with a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, up to 24 hours of battery, a 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display, and 16GB or 24GB of unified memory with up to 4TB of SSD storage, in Space Black or Silver. The trade-off is the price: at $2,354.00 it costs more than twice the MacBook Air (M5) at $1,139.00, and the listing gives no detail on the display brightness or the port set, so the premium is for the Pro chip and battery rather than for listed extras. At $2,354.00 at Amazon.com, checked 2026-11-04, it suits a buyer who wants a Pro MacBook for demanding work on the move; a buyer who wants a light laptop for everyday work should look at the MacBook Air (M5) instead.
