Samsung Galaxy A26 drops to $149.97 at Amazon.com — the cheapest Samsung phone we track, with one catch

By Merry

The Samsung Galaxy A26 5G is $149.97 at Amazon.com today, down from $169.99 — a $20.02 cut, about 12%, on the same listing, in stock, checked 8 November 2026. It is the cheapest Samsung phone in our verified US listing, and the only genuine first-party price drop we found in this morning’s re-check of all 65 products.

There is one catch, and it decides whether this deal is for you. The listing is the Tracfone prepaid model, locked to Tracfone — a Tracfone plan is required to activate it. If you are on Tracfone, or happy to join it, this is a real $149.97 phone. If you need an unlocked phone, this price does not apply to you: the unlocked A26’s list price was $299.99.

What you get for the money is more phone than the price suggests. The A26 has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display at 120Hz, Samsung’s Exynos 1380 chip, a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation, a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging, an IP67 rating, and Android 15 with One UI 7. Samsung promises six OS upgrades for the A26, so a phone bought at this price is not a phone you will be forced to replace next year.

The context makes the drop sharper. The next Samsung phone up in our listing is the Galaxy A56 at $299.00, also at Amazon.com — almost exactly twice the A26’s new price. The A56’s case rests on its faster chip and more capable camera set, but the A26 keeps the same 6.7-inch 120Hz screen size, the same 50MP main camera with stabilisation, and the same 5,000mAh battery. The Galaxy A36, the phone that sits between them, has no new listing at Amazon.com right now — only Renewed units — so the A26 is the only live Samsung phone under $200 in the listing today.

Our call: if you are on Tracfone, this is the cheapest way into a current Samsung phone with a 120Hz AMOLED screen and six years of updates, and $149.97 is a good price for it. If you are not on Tracfone, do not buy a locked phone hoping to use it elsewhere — wait for an unlocked price instead.
