Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge First Impressions: Thin, Light, and $749.99 at Best Buy
Samsung’s thinnest flagship is a phone you notice before you switch it on. The Galaxy S25 Edge is 5.8mm thick, weighs 163g, and is built around a titanium frame — numbers that put it in a different class from every other large Samsung phone on sale in the United States. At $749.99 for the 256GB unlocked model in Titanium Jet Black at Best Buy, checked on 3 November 2026, it sits $50 above the Galaxy S25 at $699.99. The question is not whether the Edge is thin. It is whether thin is worth what Samsung gave up to get there.

This is a First Impressions review, based only on Samsung’s official US specifications and the verified US price. CompareIdea has not carried the Galaxy S25 Edge for a week, and nothing here comes from using the phone. The verdict comes from the published figures and the verified price, not from hands-on testing.
What you get for $749.99
The headline figures are properly flagship. The 6.7-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display runs at 120Hz and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2. The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip is the same top-end silicon as the rest of the S25 range, backed by 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. The main camera is a 200MP sensor with optical image stabilisation, paired with a 12MP ultrawide camera and a 12MP front camera. The phone launched in the US on 13 May 2025, running Android 15 with One UI 7.
The trade-off is the battery and the zoom
Thin phones pay for thinness somewhere, and on the Edge the bill arrives in two places. The battery is 3,900mAh — smaller than the standard Galaxy S25’s 4,000mAh — and wired charging tops out at 25W, with wireless charging over Qi. If you are a heavy user who is away from a charger all day, that is the number to think about hardest. The camera setup tops out at 2x telephoto, so there is no dedicated long zoom lens here. If you shoot at distance — games, concerts, wildlife — the Edge will crop where a phone with a real telephoto lens would reach.
Who should buy it
The Edge makes sense for one buyer in particular: someone who wants a large-screen Samsung flagship, carries it everywhere, and charges every night. At 163g it is light for a phone with a 6.7-inch screen, and the screen and chip are not cut down to achieve it. If you want the longest battery life or the longest zoom in the range, the standard Galaxy S25 at $699.99 — $50 less — is the more balanced phone. But it is not this thin, and for some buyers that is the whole point.
Verdict: buy it for the thinness, not in spite of it
Our pick is the Galaxy S25 Edge, but only if thin and light is what you actually want from a flagship. At $749.99 for the 256GB unlocked model in Titanium Jet Black at Best Buy, checked on 3 November 2026, you are paying $50 more than the Galaxy S25 for a phone that is dramatically thinner and lighter, with the same class of screen and chip. The trade-off is plain: a 3,900mAh battery, 25W wired charging, and a camera that tops out at 2x telephoto. Accept those three limits and the Edge is a genuinely appealing phone. If any one of them worries you, buy the S25 instead.
What to check before you buy
Check the variant first: the $749.99 price is for the 256GB unlocked model in Titanium Jet Black. A different storage size or finish can cost more. Check the Best Buy listing before you buy, because the price was checked on 3 November 2026 and can change. And if you are choosing between the Edge and the standard S25, hold both if you can — the difference in the hand is the whole argument.
