Galaxy S25 at $699.99: the compact Samsung flagship, $100 less at Best Buy in the US

Small phones have been quietly disappearing, which is part of why the Galaxy S25 still stands out. It is a 6.2-inch phone in a market that keeps pushing screens past that size, and at Best Buy in the US it is now $699.99 for the unlocked 128GB model in Navy. The comparable value on the same listing is $799.99, so the saving is $100, marked as a Holiday Deal. The price was checked on Best Buy’s US listing on 4 November 2026.

Verdict: if you want a smaller flagship, this is the one to look at first

Start with the size, because that is the S25’s real selling point. A 6.2-inch AMOLED screen at 120Hz, in a phone that weighs 162 grams on Best Buy’s specification list, is a different daily experience from the large slabs that dominate the top of the market. It fits a pocket and a hand more easily, and it does not demand a stretch to reach the top of the screen. Behind that screen, the specifications are still flagship grade: a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 12GB of RAM, a 50-megapixel main camera with a 10-megapixel telephoto at 3x optical zoom and a 12-megapixel ultrawide, and a 4,000mAh battery. CompareIdea does not hands-on test phones, so this verdict is an editorial reading of those published US specifications against the verified US price, not a claim about a week spent carrying the phone. The compromises are also visible on the same list. The battery is smaller than the ones in larger Samsung models, storage here is 128GB rather than 256GB, and the $100 saving, while welcome, does not make a $699.99 phone cheap. For US buyers who want a compact phone and are willing to trade a bigger battery and more storage for a smaller body, that trade is a good one. For buyers who want the biggest screen and the longest battery life, a larger model at a higher price will suit them better, and this price does not change that.

The details on the US listing

Best Buy lists the unlocked model, SKU 6612706, in Navy, with support for AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and other carriers named on the listing. The screen is a 2340 x 1080 AMOLED display at 120Hz, reaching 2,600 nits on the specification list. It charges at 25 watts wired and 15 watts wireless, runs Android 15 on that list, and carries an IP68 rating. Video is listed at 8K at 30 frames per second, and the front camera is 12 megapixels. As with the other stories in this series, this is not a launch. The S25 is already on sale in the US, and the news here is the current US price, checked today, against the comparable value on the same Best Buy listing.
